Trip to Greece in 32 days
This trip to Greece in 32 days will bring us closer to one of the most eagerly awaited destinations that we have known and that has been on our list of pending trips for many years. Taking into account the size of the country and especially the number of islands that can be visited, at the end and after many evaluations, we have ended up organizing a route that will take us through some of the most important places to see in Greece, in addition to many of the most touristy and we believe, should be visited yes or no on a first trip to Greece.
Officially known as the Hellenic Republic and located between Europe, Asia, and Africa, Greece, with around eleven million inhabitants, is made up of seven archipelagos, with approximately 1400 islands, of which 227 are currently inhabited.
With one of the most exciting stories in the world, which seems to be reflected in every part of the country, Greece is one of the most complete countries to travel to, with its incredible beauty, unique archaeological sites and unforgettable landscapes, as well as a powerful attraction, which is none other than the impressive Greek islands.
All of them are very different from each other, most of them are located in the Aegean Sea and we could divide them into 7 groups: the Ionian islands, in the western part of Greece, the Cyclids, with 56 islands, Crete, the largest in extension, the Dodecanese archipelago, with 12 islands, the Aegean islands, the Auburn island, and the Saronic islands.

Although we could say that any period is perfect for traveling to Greece, we must take into account certain aspects, through which we could mark three very different periods in which we could travel to Greece, each one of them with certain characteristics:
– High season (June to August): This is the time when prices are highest, all the most popular tourist sites are in full swing and there is plenty of tourism, especially in the most famous places and some of the best known Greek islands such as Santorini or Mykonos.
It should also be noted that during the months of July and August, temperatures are usually very high.
– Midseason (April-May and September)
It is at this time of the year when prices are usually a little tighter, there are fewer people in the most touristic places and temperatures are usually milder.
However, it should also be borne in mind that sometimes flights and transport services, such as ferries, see their timetables reduced.
– Low season (from October to March)
Although this is the time when prices are lowest, in some cases up to 50%, it should be noted that many services are reduced, including ferries, accommodation, and even some tourist attractions.
With this in mind, we believe that a good time to travel to Greece would be in the months comprising the middle season or June, which is the first month of the high season when you can already enjoy the good temperatures, but overcrowding does not seem to have reached its peak.
Although getting around by public transport when traveling to Greece is totally feasible, it is advisable to rent a car in Greece, as this will allow you total freedom of movement and timetables, making your route much more pleasant.
Taking this into account, for a first trip, it is advisable to spend about a week touring mainland Greece, which includes places in Greece that are on the Balkan peninsula and which of course include places like Athens, Corinth, the Theater of Epidaurus, Olympia, Delphi and the Monasteries of Meteora.
To finish the trip, there is nothing better than to choose to spend a few days in one of the better known Greek islands such as Santorini or Mykonos, although here the offer is as wide as the 227 inhabited islands that exist.
